World Digital Economics Summit 2024
On May 28, 2024, the World Digital Economics Summit hosted by AADE was held in Singapore. Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister for National Development and Ministry of Communications and Information of Singapore, attended the opening ceremony of the summit.
The summit focused on important topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cross-border data cooperation, Web3.0 technology applications, and Singapore’s technology innovation strategies. More than 100 globally renowned scientists, members of United Nations agencies, and executives from internationally recognized technology companies gathered to discuss the development direction and future trends of the global digital economy.
“Singapore, as a founding member of the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA), has always been at the forefront of global digital economy innovation,” said Peng Lihui, Secretary General of the China Electronic Chamber of Commerce. “The participation of Chinese scholars and enterprises will help showcase China’s achievements in the digital economy sector and provide opportunities for companies to expand internationally.”
Chen Bohui, President of the Asia Academy of Digital Economics, stated: “We believe that every participant will gain valuable knowledge, experience, and insights through face-to-face exchanges with global thought leaders and technology innovators. This will be key to promoting personal and corporate innovation development and international expansion.”
Distinguished guests, including Seng Han Tong, former Member of Parliament Republic of Singapore; Tan Chong Huat, Chairman of Singapore’s National Anti-Drug Committee; Zheng Weiwu, Chairman of the UN Sustainable Development Goals Research Laboratory; Miu Wande, President of the US Information Industry Institute; and Wen Zhumou, member of the UN Digital Economy Expert Group, delivered speeches.
